RayBan Sunglasses at Eyelines

Ray Ban - Genuine since 1937
Ray-Bans were initially created in 1937.
After lieutenant John MacCready had returned from a balloon flying adventure in 1920. He complained that the sun had done permanent damage to his eyes. He contacted an Optical Company asking them to make a pair of sunglasses that not only protected his eyes but also looked good . The prototype, known as Anti-Glare, consisted of an extremely light frame weighing 150 grams. They were made of gold-plated metal with two green lenses made of mineral glass to filter out infrared and ultraviolet rays. Pilots in the United States Air Force immediately adopted the sunglasses.
Hundreds of Ray-Ban Sunglasses have made appearances in Hollywood films; the first dates back to the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s, staring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly .
Later the popularity of Ray-Ban sunglasses was confirmed in the Hollywood hit Blues Brothers staring Dan Akroyd and John Belushi.

Eyelines reaches 20th Anniversary

On November 9th 1985 Eyelines Opticians opened its doors for the first time. Now 20 years later the world of Optics ( as well as the world in general) has seen a lot of changes but the faces that were present on Day 1 , 20 years ago are still working with the company today.
As well as company founder Max, the other member of staff on that day was Mr Zaw Min who still works within the practice.

Jamie becomes Sevenoaks Hockey Clubs Youngest Umpire
February 2005 
Jamie Platt , age 13 , from Sevenoaks Hockey Club, has passed his Foundation Umpire Award. He sat his theory exams and then qualified at the Kent Under 11 Girls Championship.
After umpiring in the early rounds and a Quarter Final, he acheived the accolade of umpiring the Final.
Jamie is the youngest member of Sevenoaks Hockey Club to acheive this award, and proudly wears Sevenoaks Hockey Clubs own Umpiring shirt , sponsored by Eyelines Opticians.
Good luck to Jamie with his future umpiring duties .
Jamie Has Perfect Vision
February 2005 As part of the Sponsorship deal with Sevenoaks Hockey Club , Eyelines agreed to ensure that a selection of the Umpires that we sponsor all have acceptable vision.
We found Jamie Platt has perfect sight. So he has no excuse for poor descisions
Eyelines to sponsor Sevenoaks Hockey Club and Sevenoaks Triathlon

Eyelines have entered into an agreement with Sevenoaks Hockey Club to sponsor the Hockey Umpires for the 2004/2005 Season.
So no siting vision as an excuse for poor decisions. Sevenoaks Hockey Club is based at the Vine in Sevenoaks and has a selection of teams from Juniors right through to Veterans for males , females and mixed. Sevenoaks Triathlon Club is based at the Sevenoaks Leisure Center and hosts the bi-annual Sevenoaks Triathlon in April and September. 
The race consists of a 400m Swim, 27Km Cycle followed by an 8Km Run through Knowle Park. The Club are expecting almost 300 entrants for the September event.If you wish to find out more about Triathlon or the club please take a look at the club site

Eyelines invests in state of the art digital equipment in major shop refurbishment.
January 2003  Eyelines have recently refitted it's consulting room with state of the art equipment from Topcon. As well as the standard equipment required for the eye examination , a Digital imaging system has been installed. This consists of two Digital Cameras one the Topcon TRCNW100 allows digital photographs to be taken of the inside of the eye specifically the Retina.
The second camera is a Fuji FinePix S1 Pro that is combined with the SL7 slit lamp to allow photographs to be taken of both the exterior and interior of the eye. This is useful for both eye examination and contact lens fitting purposes. The two cameras both use Topcons Imagenet softwear to store the images.
